Holy nature

The lotus flower is and aquatic plant that plays a central role in many Indian religions. Personally it reminds me of precious times wild swimming in the UK, being at eye-level dipping in and out of the water, glimpsing their mesmerising perfection.

So much of nature plays a role in Hinduism, every part of the banana tree is Holy and its leaves are used to place offerings on to the spirits and gods. Many people in India and other parts of the word eat off the leaves like plates, it makes a meal look very special. To me the leaf symbolises the warm tropical climates I have dreamt of enjoying as a child and where I have been lucky to visit as an adult.
